ELMSDALE: Proud and honoured.
That’s how Elmsdale’s Cameron Farnell, who suits up with Enfield RFC, has been selected to join the 28 man Under-18 squad representing Rugby Canada in a series of three matches when they battle Hong Kong Rugby Union. The series will take place in Hong Kong next month.
“I’m incredibly proud and honored to represent Canada while playing the game that I love,” said Farnell. “It means a great deal to me as there was a lot of strong competition and to be selected was the ultimate goal.
“It’s hard to put into words how much it means to me.”
He expects that Hong Kong will provide tough opposition during the three game set.
“I predict all the games will be hard fought and close scores,” he said.
He trains year-round with the N.S. Keltics; Enfield RFC; and at Renfrew Strength and Conditioning in Enfield.
Farnell said he’s been lucky to play on many different teams at many different levels.
“I feel they have all prepared me for this,” said Farnell.
