Peruzza leads Jr Pens to two wins

LANTZ: As Matt Peruzza goes, so do the East Hants Junior Penguins.

Peruzza, a native of Oakville, Ont., notched seven goals and 10 points over two games for the Pens on the weekend of Nov. 16-18 as East Hants picked up two big wins by identical 7-5 scores.

The wins were over Cole Harbour on Nov. 16 at the Keith Miller Arena in the East Hants Sportsplex and on the road against Valley Maple Leafs on Nov. 18.

Peruzza turned the lamp on four times and chipped in two assists in the victory over the Leafs in Windsor. Derek Boudreault added two tallies, while brother Adam Peruzza had a single marker.

Adam Peruzza had five assists, while Boudreault and David Martino each were credited with three helpers apiece. Matt Peruzza had two helpers.

Daniel Davidson contributed one assist.

Ryan Huestis earned the goaltending victory between the pipes for East Hants, turning away 26 of 31 shots.

Former Penguin Kolbi Daniels played his old team for the first time.

On home ice on Nov. 16, Matt Peruzza potted a hat trick and an assist to lead the offensive side of the game for the Pens.

Kyle Randall; Quinn MacDonald; Chris Lanthier; and Evan Pettipas each contributed a goal each. MacDonald chipped in two assists.

Adam Peruzza had three helpers; David Martino was credited with two assists, while Matt Peruzza; Jacob Roberts; and Dylan Evans had single assists.

Huestis blocked 37 of 42 pucks sent his way.

East Hants will welcome the Brookfield Elks into the Igloo in the back-end of a home-and-home with their rivals. Game time on Nov. 30 is 7:30 p.m. They face the Elks in Brookfield on Nov. 27.
