Woman sought in Mount Uniacke theft

MOUNT UNIACKE: East Hants RCMP are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman who was involved in a theft at a coffee shop in Mount Uniacke.

In a release, police say the woman stole a purse on Feb. 20.

The woman was observed on video surveillance entering the coffee shop seating area while talking on a cell phone,” said Sgt. Bridgit Leger. “She proceeded to grab a purse from beside an elderly man while he was not looking.

“With the purse in her hand, the woman headed towards the door and sprinted away in the parking lot.”

The suspect is described as approximately 19-23 years-old, with brown hair. She was wearing pyjama pants and a hoodie. No other suspects were observed at the time.
