HERH students organizing HEART Society fundraiser

MILFORD: Six Grade 9 Citizenship students at Hants East Rural High are giving back to the community.

The students are organizing a benefit for Hants East Assisting Refugee Team (HEART) Society in support of the Barho family following their February tragic and devastating fire.

In a release, organizers say there will be a vendor and craft sale on June 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Milford Recreation Centre in Milford. A Variety Show will occur from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m, with food trucks on site as well.

Admission for the event is $3 per person or $5 for all-day access.

“There are still a few tables available for the vendor show,” said organizers to The Weekly Press. “We are accepting acts for the variety show so please contact us by message or for more information.”

Currently, the confirmed food trucks scheduled to be at the fundraiser, According to the facebook event page as of May 12, include: Jamaica Lee Style Cuisine; Waffles On My Mind; and Sticks and Stone Woodfired Pizza and Catering.
