BOWER, Vivian Joyce – With heartfelt sadness, we the family of Vivian Bower announce her peaceful passing August 31, 2017 in the QEII Infirmary, Halifax. Born in 1929, she was a daughter of the late Hector and Elsie (Miller) Keyes. Before retiring, Vivian was a longtime employee of Sears Canada Inc. She was a member of Christ Anglican Church, Lantz for many years, singing in the church choir. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting and quilting. With love, she gifted each of her immediate family with a beautiful handmade quilt. She loved her sweets and got pleasure sharing her delicious baking with family and friends, especially during the Christmas season. It has been said “No one ever left Vivian’s house with a hungry tummy!” She is survived by sons, Wade (Betty), Lantz; Barry (Verna), Pugwash; daughter, Shelley, Lantz; grandchildren, Jeff (Nicole), Lindsay (Darren), Chad (Susie), Brett (Lori); great-grandsons, Dax and Kameron Bower, Wyatt Southern; brother, Mel (Mary); brother-in-law, Morris (Barb); sister-in-law, Ruth Ross. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph; sister, Lorna; brother, Lorne in infancy. A special thank you from family to Vivian’s caregivers over the last three years. Your kindness and caring shown to our Mum and Nannie was very much appreciated. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. No visitation by request. A graveside service for family and friends was held September 5 in Christ Church Cemetery, Lantz, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiated.
