HERH Tigers roar to second place in NNSHL

MILFORD: The Hants East Rural High School Tigers boys hockey team sits tied for first with their cat cousins the CEC Cougars in the Northern N.S. High School Hockey League.

CEC gets the edge with just four games played—and three of them victories. Their one other game was a tie.

Meanwhile, HERH has suited up for seven contests and have a 3-3-1 (won-loss-tie) record over that span in the four-team league. The Tigers have scored 16 goals and surrendered 23 according to the recent update on the league’s website.

Northumberland Rural and North Nova are the other two teams in the league.

Adam Hunt leads the Tigers in scoring with three goals and three assists in seven games. Sean Morrison is next with three goals and an assist; Duncan Smith has two goals and two assists; while Evan Pettipas and Owen Weagle each have a goal and a helper.

HERH was to host Northumberland on Nov. 11, before heading to Truro for a Nov. 16 game against the Cougars.

North Nova will visit the East Hants Sportsplex on Nov. 18 for a date with the Tigers in a 7 p.m. puck drop.
