HNRH Flames headed to provincials

KENNETCOOK: The Hants North Flames are heading to Cape Breton to play for a provincial boys soccer championship.

After winning the regional championship for their region, the Flames had to play a provincial qualifier game against Duncan MacMillan school from Sheet Harbour on Oct. 28.

On a nice, but breezy Saturday the game kicked off at noon time on the school field at Hants North in Kennetcook.

The Flames led 3-0 after the first half and quickly opened up the scoring to make it 5-0 before the game was two minutes into the second half.

They went on to pick up the 11-0 victory, punching their ticket to the provincial championship at Cape Breton Highlands Academy, beginning Friday.

Hants North’s first game is at 11 a.m. on Friday Nov. 3.
