ENFIELD: An Enfield women’s hockey player was part of Team Atlantic that competed at the Women’s Under-18 national hockey championship from Nov. 9-13 in Regina, Sask.

Megan Forrest, a forward who suits up with the Ridley College girls hockey team, was one of eight Nova Scotians on the 20-player roster for Team Atlantic.

The breakdown for the other Atlantic provinces saw Newfoundland and Labrador with five players; New Brunswick had four; and P.E.I. had three.

Forrest has tallied two goals and four assists in 12 games this season with Ridley College.She also has one minor penalty to her name.

Team Atlantic was selected following the Atlantic Challenge Cup on Thanksgiving weekend in in Moncton, NB.

Coaches for Team Atlantic observed all female teams participating in the Atlantic Challenge Cup tournament, which featured the top players from the four Atlantic provinces.

The 2016 National Women’s Under-18 Championship were held in Regina, Saskatchewan from Nov. 9-13, 2016. All games were to be played at the Cooperators Centre.
