Two weekend wins for Ryson Construction Penguins

LANTZ: It was a winning weekend for the East Hants Ryson Construction Penguins Junior C team Oct. 28-29.

The Pens faced off with the Cumberland/Colchester Colts in a home-and-home set, hosting the Colts on Oct. 28 at the Keith Miller Arena in the East Hants Sportsplex, then travelling up the Cobequid Pass for the rematch on Oct. 29.

In Lantz, the Pens scored twice in the first and third periods, while potting three in the middle stanza, en route to a 7-3 victory over the Colts.

The offence was led by a hat trick from Andrew Antonio. Zach Caldwell had a goal and an assist, while Kyle Totten; Andrew Hines; and Mitch Urquhart tallied a goal apiece. Ryan Stevenson chipped in with four helpers, while single assists were credited to Hunter Christmas; Ryan Jeffries; and Chad Nemis.

Tanner Edgett picked up the goaltending victory between the pipes, stopping 25 of 28 shots sent his way.

Against the Colts in Springhill, the Pens led 8-2 after two periods when the game’s officials called the game off.
