MOUNT UNIACKE: Mother Nature’s persistent push and threat of rain didn’t seem to dampen the spirits along the route for the Firefighter Fair parade in Mount Uniacke on June 24.

Ava Lynn Barkhouse-Fraser, formerly of Mount Uniacke who now lives in Windsor, was patiently awaiting the Firefighters Fair parade with her new best stuffy that she won the night before at the fair.

While the number of people lined up appeared to be down compared to previous years, said people by the Uniacke Fire Hall, the excitement level wasn’t.

The parade brought many smiles to the faces of those young and old.

Besides the parade, there was carnival activities Friday and Saturday, a kids run, and of course the fireworks which attracted hundreds on Friday night. That’s just naming a few of the events that took place as part of the fair.

Reporter Pat Healey was on hand and snapped photos of the parade. For more photos check out our Photo Gallery section on our website,

Eddy’s Variety had a nice entry in the parade.
