ENFIELD: In 2017, Halifax Stanfield surpassed its goal of reaching the four million passenger mark by serving 4,083,188 passengers, a growth rate of 4.5 per cent over the previous year.
To celebrate this milestone, Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA) is hosting a social media contest, sponsored by Air Canada, to thank the community for their support in reaching this goal.
“At Halifax Stanfield, connecting means the world. We served over 4 million passengers last year, but the connections made here are countless,” says Joyce Carter, HIAA President & CEO. “Over the last five years alone, we served an additional half million passengers. Our community and our stakeholders have played a pivotal role in this success and we are eager to celebrate this significant milestone with them through the sharing of personal connections.”
Members of the public are invited to post original content describing what connecting means to them on Twitter, Instagram and/or Facebook. The post can be text, image or video, however, the caption must begin with the words “connecting means” with the participant finishing the sentence. The participant must have a public profile and the post must be tagged #4Mconnections. There is a limit of one entry per person per social media channel and the profile must follow at least one of Halifax Stanfield’s official profiles on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
The contest closes on March 1, 2018 at 11:59:59 p.m. AST. All eligible entrants will be entered into a draw and a winner will be chosen at random.
