LANTZ: A ceremonial puck drop involving the sponsors of the East Hants Ryson Construction Junior C Penguins took place before the team’s home opener at the East Hants Sportsplex on Sept. 30.

The Pens won the contest handidly 14-2 over Springhill-based Cumberland Colts.

East Hants was led by Brett Wallace with three goals and four assists, while Ryan Stevenson and Andrew Hines each had a pair of goals. Seven other players had single tallies for the winners.

Tyler Williams stopped 34 of 46 shots in goal/.

The Pens were to host Avon River Rats on Oct. 7 at the East Hants Sportsplex.
