Makayla Lynn nominated for three NSMW awards

BELNAN: Makayla Lynn has been nominated for three Music Nova Scotia Awards.

The singer from Belnan, learned the news recently as the nominees for the 2017 awards were revealed by Music Nova Scotia. The banquet is scheduled for Nov. 5 at the Holiday Inn in Truro, beginning at 7 p.m.

Jenn Grant leads the way with a total of seven nominations, while Port Cities and Rose Cousins are one behind, each with six nods. All received nominations in major categories such as Entertainer of the Year and Recording of the Year.

Makayla Lynn is nominated for her recently released, Nashville-produced “On A Dare and A Prayer” for Country Album of the Year; SOCAN Songwriter of the Year for “Sweet Simon”; and Digital Artist of the Year because she has 30,000 Facebook fans and more than 1 million YouTube views.

Juno Award winners Wintersleep have been added to the 2017 NSMW festival line-up. They will perform on Thursday, November 2 at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 26 – Truro. Individual tickets for this show went on sale on Sept. 15.

Hillsburn, from the Middle Musquodoboit area, is also nominated for Digital Artist of the Year.
