LANTZ: Motorists are being given a heads up that they will want to avoid the railroad tracks on Highway 277 in Lantz, just past the Lantz fire department.

That’s because crews from CN Rail will be on site all day Tuesday, Oct. 11 to do work on the railroad crossing.

An official spokesperson confirmed on Oct. 7 that the crossing will be closed from 12:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. for the work.

“The closure is to allow repair work of the rail crossing surface,” said Patrick Waldron in an email to The Weekly Press.

He said vehicles will be directed to a detour route during the closure. That route will involve vehicles being rerouted towards Elmsdale Road.

The closure is expected to only last for the stated time period.
